Migrant Apprehensions at Border Jump to Highest Level Since Trump's Election

Migrant apprehensions along the U.S.-Mexico Border jumped in the first two months of Fiscal Year 2019 to the highest level since the election of President Donald Trump in 2016. The apprehension of migrants along the border with Mexico jumped slightly in October and November to the highest levels since the 2016 election of President Trump, according to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Southwest Border Migration Report released Thursday night. Border Patrol agents apprehended 51,856 migrants in total in the nine southwest border sectors in November. This is up slightly from 51,001 in October.
